A random thought

Peace is the most difficult thing to achieve these days. There is so much content everywhere that to bring your mind to focus on one thing be it a simple household chore is getting tougher everyday. Instead of doing things, our mind is so much occupied by just visualizing to do things. You watch a reel or a you tube short and now your mind is becoming the AI powered platform, which is visualizing you doing it.  Say for example watching a fitness regime on youtube, we watch the routing everyday and keep telling ourselves that we will be doing it from tomorrow. But that doesn't happen. Because most of us are so much occupied by the end result of these things and have given up the idea of enjoying the journey. I sometimes think, is it the smart phone or the social media platform that has made us into a log of wood, which just doesn't want to move or interact with one another. Whenever we get a little time, we just want to browse random content on the social media. The human touch

My American Diary Episode 1: The Coffee

It is a life long dream for many in India to go abroad and if that abroad is "USA" then its like,  cherry on top of your cheese cake {sone pe suhaga}. Now if you are all set for USA, what are the things that come to your mind when you think of USA .. Hmmm .. what came to my mind?? ... Snow, hip-hop artists , rappers , freak heads , piercings , Coke , Bear , blonde heads , burgers , huge buildings, better life style , pollution free atmosphere.. huh!! And yes the Coffee....Thanks to the million dollar scene from the Hindi movie English Vinglish where India's darling Sreedevi was traumatized by the American Coffee lady .{lol.} So here  I am .. sharing my bitter but happy ending Coffee story : My experience was not that rough if I compare it to Sreedevi's , But was bitter. I come from a south Indian family so coffee is something that I am very fond of. I prefer my coffee to be not so strong with more milk and less sugar. So with this coffee expertise I went to

F.E.A.R - Fracturing Emotions and Ambitions Regularly

There's one instance I would like to share before coming to the topic that I have chosen for today's blog. During one of our placement training sessions at college, our instructor was amazingly narrating us many instances of geniuses from people who have excelled in HR interviews, when asked some of the toughest questions. To make the conversation interactive, we were given some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ) for which we had to come up with spontaneous but unusually awesome answers. Among all the questions the one that stands out for me, was "What is your biggest fear in life?" . Let's pause the story here and come back to our topic. Are you doing an R & D in your mind ... questioning yourself what is My biggest fear. Or May be you already know what is your biggest fear ... but do you really have the guts to admit it. The FEAR that I am talking about is not a phobia prone to water, darkness or insects. This is something that resides in our mi

Talking Is Often Underated But Is A Very Precious Gift

Image
I often get my ideas of writing a blog from people around me . Some discussions, talks , quotes or even a gesture inspires me to write and share my opinions and feelings with the world. This time the inspiration came from a casual talk that I was having with my colleagues at a coffee shop in Eagan, and the topic was " How much and what do grown ups really talk to their FOLKS  { Parents } . As soon as we get a job and a career of our choice ,we tend to move away from our parents. Talking gets reduced to " Had food?", "Have send money to you will get credited by tomorrow", "Do you Need more money ?" , "I am fine too " , "Can't come home this time", "Busy with work, call you later".   Sometimes, even this is reduced to a text " Money sent" or "I am fine, call you later".   Siblings are even more forgotten and are remembered either at a family function or some festivals . Under Normal s

One for the kitchen One for the Soul

Recently I was watching one of the shows of an Indian stand up comedian , by name Abish Mathew who was giving motivational talk to students at one of the universities in India. One phrase from his talk that caught my attention was " One for the Kitchen One for Soul". And I thought I should write about this. We , humans , as we call ourselves all suffer from split personality disorder and if someone doesn't then the world calls him "CRAZY". Sounds bit weird, right !! Yes it is. But this is the reality. Most of us would agree with me If I say "what we do is not actually what we want to do". We are so afraid to pursue our passion as our career option that we forcefully mold ourselves to do something for which we have zero interest in . I totally agree with what RANCHO from Hindi movie "Three Idiots" says to his friends "Do what you love to do". How correctly he points out that by doing something in which you have zero interest

Are we missing something in our life

Going back in time always reminds me of Charles Dicken's Novel "The Christmas Carol" where three angels take Mr. Scrooge to a journey in his past and then to future to make him realize his mistakes ", Which is way better than a "TIME MACHINE". {hi hi} I wish someday an angel appear in front of me too and take me back to my childhood days where  everything around me was so  different from the way I look at them now. Life was not luxurious but there was some satisfaction and peace. Competition was there but not to an extent that I will loose my sleep. A new dress or a toy was sufficient enough to make me smile . A trip with family or friends used to give me the heavenly happiness. While climbing the ladder of life, we have gained a lot at a price of our happiness. Why aren't we happy after achieving everything ? Are we missing something in our life? I think apart from love, care and happiness, a collective response to my above question would

We Indians, as the world know us, are blessed with a rich cultural heritage and our country  is the biggest democracy in the world too. We possess world's fourth largest Army and our music touches souls of everyone in the world.{ Proud Indian }. But one thing that takes India to a different peak is its "FOOD". "Paani-poori, Bhel - Poori, Samosa chaat, paapadi chaat, paper dosa, uthappam, medu vada, daal vada, mirchi bhaji, paava bhaji, vada paav, dahi vada,...................so on". Search for any color, taste, smell, texture and you would see at least a dozen of Indian dishes lined up under your search results. So what are we waiting for.. let's begin our Journey. I am starting my first food journey from the northern most state of India: Jammu & Kashmir. J&K, as it is popularly known, is a state which is haunted by terrorism and militant attacks. But this doesn't stop people of J&K from spreading love and warmth. And this reciprocate
