F.E.A.R - Fracturing Emotions and Ambitions Regularly

Image
There's one instance I would like to share before coming to the topic that I have chosen for today's blog. During one of our placement training sessions at college, our instructor was amazingly narrating us many instances of geniuses from people who have excelled in HR interviews, when asked some of the toughest questions. To make the conversation interactive, we were given some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ) for which we had to come up with spontaneous but unusually awesome answers. Among all the questions the one that stands out for me, was "What is your biggest fear in life?" . Let's pause the story here and come back to our topic. Are you doing an R & D in your mind ... questioning yourself what is My biggest fear. Or May be you already know what is your biggest fear ... but do you really have the guts to admit it. The FEAR that I am talking about is not a phobia prone to water, darkness or insects. This is something that resides in our mi

Talking Is Often Underated But Is A Very Precious Gift

Image
I often get my ideas of writing a blog from people around me . Some discussions, talks , quotes or even a gesture inspires me to write and share my opinions and feelings with the world. This time the inspiration came from a casual talk that I was having with my colleagues at a coffee shop in Eagan, and the topic was " How much and what do grown ups really talk to their FOLKS  { Parents } . As soon as we get a job and a career of our choice ,we tend to move away from our parents. Talking gets reduced to " Had food?", "Have send money to you will get credited by tomorrow", "Do you Need more money ?" , "I am fine too " , "Can't come home this time", "Busy with work, call you later".   Sometimes, even this is reduced to a text " Money sent" or "I am fine, call you later".   Siblings are even more forgotten and are remembered either at a family function or some festivals . Under Normal s

One for the kitchen One for the Soul

Recently I was watching one of the shows of an Indian stand up comedian , by name Abish Mathew who was giving motivational talk to students at one of the universities in India. One phrase from his talk that caught my attention was " One for the Kitchen One for Soul". And I thought I should write about this. We , humans , as we call ourselves all suffer from split personality disorder and if someone doesn't then the world calls him "CRAZY". Sounds bit weird, right !! Yes it is. But this is the reality. Most of us would agree with me If I say "what we do is not actually what we want to do". We are so afraid to pursue our passion as our career option that we forcefully mold ourselves to do something for which we have zero interest in . I totally agree with what RANCHO from Hindi movie "Three Idiots" says to his friends "Do what you love to do". How correctly he points out that by doing something in which you have zero interest

Are we missing something in our life

Going back in time always reminds me of Charles Dicken's Novel "The Christmas Carol" where three angels take Mr. Scrooge to a journey in his past and then to future to make him realize his mistakes ", Which is way better than a "TIME MACHINE". {hi hi} I wish someday an angel appear in front of me too and take me back to my childhood days where  everything around me was so  different from the way I look at them now. Life was not luxurious but there was some satisfaction and peace. Competition was there but not to an extent that I will loose my sleep. A new dress or a toy was sufficient enough to make me smile . A trip with family or friends used to give me the heavenly happiness. While climbing the ladder of life, we have gained a lot at a price of our happiness. Why aren't we happy after achieving everything ? Are we missing something in our life? I think apart from love, care and happiness, a collective response to my above question would

Various Flavors and Colors of Indian Cuisine

We Indians, as the world know us, are blessed with a rich cultural heritage and our country  is the biggest democracy in the world too. We possess world's fourth largest Army and our music touches souls of everyone in the world.{ Proud Indian }. But one thing that takes India to a different peak is its "FOOD". "Paani-poori, Bhel - Poori, Samosa chaat, paapadi chaat, paper dosa, uthappam, medu vada, daal vada, mirchi bhaji, paava bhaji, vada paav, dahi vada,...................so on". Search for any color, taste, smell, texture and you would see at least a dozen of Indian dishes lined up under your search results. So what are we waiting for.. let's begin our Journey. I am starting my first food journey from the northern most state of India: Jammu & Kashmir. J&K, as it is popularly known, is a state which is haunted by terrorism and militant attacks. But this doesn't stop people of J&K from spreading love and warmth. And this reciprocate

Weigh that matters ..

Hello readers .. I am back with another interesting and very much talked about topic . As you can guess from the title itself that  I am pointing towards  "WEIGHT ISSUES". It  is a very burning and important topic that needs urgent attention {fire Alarm}. Don't worry I am not here to educate you all with some weight reduction diet plans or exercise regime or some technology that would take out all the cellulite from your body like a vaccum cleaner{uff}. Instead  I am here , with a question "What matters the most in your life ?". Before we go in to deeper analysis, let's go through my own story first. I was born in to a military family as the eldest daughter weighing 3 and half pounds in 1987. From there on, the weight scale has always been on an accelerator for me. I have always seen myself as an odd looking girl who is tall and weighs more than any of her classmates (thanks to my genes). It was not that easy but still I found my way out to

"Har ek Friend Zaroori ya Kameena Hota hai "

Here you go.. I am back again with yet another exciting ride through my experiences, this time its a topic on which I can talk for hours and hours without taking a break. Excited!! Me too.. Some body has rightly said that "Har ek friend zaroori hota hai" yup really all sorts and types of friends are needed in your life. And those who are close, best or special friends are very precious and we should never ever loose them. Okay, so would you like to go through a fun experience of mine with  my F.R.I.E.N.D. Let's go then. Long time ago [Black and White screen] I was in Engineering college, studying Information technology[Very studious Girl I was].  I had a group or you can say a "GANG"[not the gangs of Wasseypur for sure ] in college namely "YAHOO GALS", We were 8 in number and were very close to each other[fevicol ka jod hai bhai tootega nahi]. We then had lots of pet names and  still we address each other with those names : Achu,Kunju,Res

Are you Sad ??? reloaded

I know the title seems to be a bit over the top and unexpected but what to do its very difficult to contain my own personality sometimes.[ Kya karu... main hoon aadat se majboor ] So where did we leave last time... hmmm...( yaad karo .....) yeah.. REJECTIONS at interviews.. So next scenario to be examined is "Comparisons with friends or colleagues [ mere paas bangala hai gaadi hai.. tere paas kya hai ] ".. This is the most common type and at times the most dangerous one as well...People tend to not to accept it when asked "Are you jealous??" . Do you.. accept it?? (Jab dost fail hota hai to bahut dukh hota hai.. par agar wahi dost top kare to bahut dukh hota hai...) Okay let me share my personal experience about it ... Right from my childhood I liked to be in limelight( center of attraction) . I was actually a big time  attention seeker. I used to try to excel at everything possible for just being called smart, talented. When someone else tries to

Are you sad ???

It's not the first time that I am writing blog but somehow it's been sometime that I have actually sat down and wrote something that pleases my mind. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for my readers.. today is that day. Please bear  me folks [chuckles] !!! I did a lot of ..yeah..  I mean a lot of R&D on what to write and then finally I got a topic that connects with almost everyone of us [I suppose]. And... the Grand topic is "Depression"...[applauds]. Let me put the topic in another way "Are you Sad??".. Don't worry I am not going to give any scientific definition for depression or not even try to take it away from anyone. Because I know how great asset is depression  to us. No I mean seriously... Depression is a constant companion who never leaves your side no matter what happens.. [ye dosti hum nahi todenge.....] But why is that when we become friends with Depression, we turn our back towards our family and closed ones??
